Here you can investigate the database of projects available through SCI and it's partners and find the ones that
best suit you for your international volunteering experience.
How to search the SCI Workcamp Database
SEARCHING IS OPEN TO ALL, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE REGISTERED
Select the Search menu, then:
You may search on any single setting, such as Region or Country, but
the more specific you are, the smaller
will be your list of choices.
For the most efficient search -
Set the Start and End Dates of the period of your availability. Set your Date of Birth and Gender to limit the search to camps with available places. Click the "Go" button to perform an initial search to
see the availability of camps by Topic, Region or Country.
Optionally, select any Topic, Region or Country to narrow your search. The Region and Country searches are mutually exclusive. Use Ctrl+Click to select more than one country.
Optionally, select any of the Family Camp, Mixed Age Camp or Suitable for the Disabled checkboxes to suit your personal circumstances.
On-Line Application (Please read the HELP section before proceeding)
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST BE A RESIDENT OF THE USA OR CANADA TO USE THIS APPLICATION FORM. IT CANNOT BE USED FOR CAMPS LISTED IN THE DATABASE AS NORTH/SOUTH.
Before you can select camp choices, you must register with SCI-IVS USA by the "Create an account" link in the Login Menu. When you submit the registration, an email will be sent to the address you recorded. You must click the link in that email to complete your registration. You may then return to the Login Menu on this page and log in to your account to choose camps. Please be sure to fill out the "Profile" section of your account as it may be used to decide whether you qualify for a camp. You will be able to save a selection of camps, sort them into order of preference and fill out the on-line application form.
CANADIANS - As our Canadian office is not yet a recognized SCI group, you should register as a US resident with "Canada" as the REGION. Your application will be forwarded to the Canadian office and you can pay application fees in Canadian dollars.
We recommend that you list more than one camp as your first choice my be full. Remember that you are competing against applications from 80 other countries for camp openings.
USA residents cannot apply for VFP camps through this system. Please go to the VFP website to apply. Canadians may apply here.
The workcamp application fee must be paid before an application can be processed ( see "How To Pay" for details ).
Please see the information on the Help page for further details and answers to frequently asked questions.
