Willow Center I
Description: The Willow Center is a special center that offers psychological support to patients and restores their reintegration into society. A number of official and civil institutions and charitable donations had contributed in it establishment in 2003. The center can accommodate up to 40 patients as internal guests, in addition to the same number of external guests how can be provided day service. A number of nurses, specialists and social workers work with the spirit of giving and love that they spread among guests and interact with them with the utmost wisdom, decency and family warmth. Attached to the center is a psychological clinic visited by a doctor in weekly bases.
Type of Work: Volunteers will be asked to work up to Eight hours in a five day week. Work will include, some hand craft works and helping inside Naur centre for Psychological support. Small construction work (ie painting) will also be planned as well as some agricultural work ,cutting dry grass ,cleaning Awareness meetings are being planned to take place with local Jordanian people and associations
Study Theme: The work camp aims to introduce a different culture to volunteers and it hopes to develop better understanding, appreciation and respect. Volunteers will interact with local workers and people with disabilities, which will enrich their life experience
Accommodation: There will be a big hall with mattresses inside the center for accommodation. There will be shared bathrooms and there are two kitchens that provide meals for guests. The center has a spacious terrace covered by a wide umbrella that oversees mountains and forests. In the downstairs there is lounge to watch TV and a table tennis in one of the corners for anyone who loves sports
Requirements: Volunteers have to bring good working shoes and clothes. It might get pretty cold so volunteers should take precautions. In addition, volunteers need to bring sleeping bags
Approximate Location: Naour is one of the main areas of the Greater Amman Municipality. It is located on the west side of the capital
Notes: There is a daily program begins active sports and lectures behavior modification sessions, all the musical instruments from the piano, guitar, drum and violin are available. Several craft training workshops do exist, including; carpentry, hay and bamboo artifacts, sewing, knitting, dolls making, embroidery and jewelry making from beads. The center is an oasis for recreation and quiet meditation in the beauty of nature away from the bustle of life. It is a place dedicated to practice the hobby of farming; there are forest trees, olive trees and garden flowers, also there is a place for breeding rabbits, pigeons and poultry which makes staying here great fun.
