Description: Rangamati, a small town located amongst the green hills, lakes and rivers of the Chittagong Hill Tracts. This is what makes it a prime Bangladesh hill destination. It is known as the Lake City of Bangladesh and indigenous villages.
As a prime tourist destination, cleanliness of the city and indigenous community is a big concern as many of the tourists do not have adequate knowledge to make the place clean.
Under the above-mentioned backdrop and as partner of Create a Climate for Peace Campaign of SCI International SCI BD would like to initiate this camp and this initiative will significantly contribute to raise awareness of the volunteers, tourists and local ethnic community members on climate change issues, specifically the importance of clean and green environment.
Type of Work: Cleaning Rangamati city and ethnic community area, Environment friendly tree plantation in the educational institution.
Study Theme: Community base awareness campaign, Motivational session with college and school boys & girls.
Accommodation: Volunteers will stay at the dormitory of a local organization. They will share common bathroom and toilet. Volunteers will be given simple vegetarian/Non-vegetarian food, to cook and manage themselves. Overseas volunteer will be hosted by SCI BD before and after the camp.
Language: English should be spoken among participants. Local language is Bengali
Requirements: Volunteer will bring working shoes, hand gloves, sleeping bag, insect repellent, toiletries & good humor. The participation fee payable upon arrival will be 150 Euros covering foods, local transport, accommodation, administration cost, material for the camps and a T-shirt. All personal expenses are excluded.
