Description: Semedo is name of village currently being laboratory for archeology and starting built up an archeology museum. The first fossil was found in 2005 by group of farmer, and they use it as ornament in their house. Day by day, there found so many fossils. In 2013, the rarest fossils: dwarf elephant (Stegodon) and giant ape, were found by The Yogyakarta Archaeology Agency. The discovery of these fossils in Semedo proves that the ancient giant ape species--around 3 meters tall (between 9 and 10 feet) -- also lived in Java. The fossils that found were 700.000 BC years old (read more : Jakarta post) By this situation, together with local community called KomunitasPeduliSitusSemedo (KPPS), we raising awareness of local community to taking care the fossils.

Type of Work: (1) Local Potential Assessment; a small survey and observation on local potential. (2) Eco-friendly living Education; educate local people to have eco-friendly lifestyle for archeology (3) Raising awareness of local people and kids about Semedo sites; open discussion, public campaign trough community visit, cultural exchange

Study Theme: Observe local potential by visiting sites, discussion with local people. Campaign about eco-friendly living so the sites keep clean, and joining local activities. Educating local people and kids about fossils and archeology.

Accommodation: Volunteer house will be provided by local community with shared toilet and bathroom, sleeping bag and mattress needed, and self-cooking.

Language: English should be spoken among participants, but please kindly learn some Indonesian words to interact with local people.

Requirements: The participation fee payable upon arrival will 165 EURO covering foods, local transport, accommodation, administration cost, material for the camps, T-shirt, contribution to IIWC management, and IIWC certificate of participation. Volunteers are requested to bear their own health and travel insurance. . Please keep it in your mind that all personal expenses and free day expenses are excluded

Approximate Location: The work camp will be held in Semedo, KedungBanteng. Tegal Regency, Central Java, Indonesia.

Organization Description: IIWC (Indonesian International Work Camp) is one of PKBI (Eng: Indonesia Planned Parenthood Association) program who deal with IVS movement since 1999.
