Working Together for Sustainable Lifestyle
Description: Can Pipirimosca is a non profit project where agriculture, far from being the main objective, is a resource to support activism for creating sustainable alternatives for the society.. Can Pipi functions as a self-sufficient farm where sharing, multiculturalism, coexistence, respect for the environment, personal growth and education are the ultimate goals. We welcome all volunteers who are open to experience an alternative way of life of sustainability and cultural exchange, and are motivated to learn and share with others.
Type of Work: The tasks will be differents such as agricultural work, recycling, clearing and cleaning areas with the aim to create space and develop the permaculture designe of the area. The work at Can Pipi will involve physical labor, such as construction and agriculture.
Study Theme: Volunteers will get a good insight on permaculture and ecology through educational workshops, documentaries, visits to other projects, group dynamics, etc. In addition to these topics, we also hold evenings of music, workshops and other activities proposed by the volunteers ...
Accommodation: Volunteers will sleep on a common room, on mattresses (so sleeping bags are essential). The conditions are basic due to the philosophy of the project: sun-warmed showers, outdoor organic toilets, etc. All meals are strictly vegan and based on the vegetables, fruits and cereals that the kitchen garden produces.
Language: Spanish and Catalan are recommended but not required.
Requirements: Write us a motivation letter and explain us why you would like to be part of this specific workcamp. Please keep in mind that the work is manual and heavy, so you do have to be ready to do it and also be in good physical form. It would be great to have volunteers with construction experience, but not mandatory.
Approximate Location: Village close to Tarragona. Yes, it is near Barcelona, but please don't apply if it only makes you think about sangria and discoballs. Volunteering is a serious commitment and it needs to be taken as such!
Notes: Volunteers will also have the opportunity to really get to know and enjoy the area around the workcamp. They will participate on the local gastronomical fair and community summer festivals and take excursions to interesting places and projects around.
