Description: Environmental Leadership Program is a an Initiative that is expected to offer community members and mostly young men and young women unique opportunity to develop the full potential and transform promising community members into its next generation of ethical, engaged and empowering leaders. This project focuses on developing the talents and potential leadership skills of its participants in the context of their individual environment as well the community as a whole.
Type of Work: Participants of the project will join the selected members of the community to participate in following activities/ Components of the project. * The workshops offer exciting new insights into leadership principles and practices will be presented by experienced leaders from various sectors that are skilled at translating principles and concepts into practical ideas and techniques * Participants of the project will have an opportunity to join local community members on their daily community work and share some practical realities. This will be in the sectors of local Government Management, Local community Schools, Businesses, Social and cultural activities. * Participants will work with community members on environmental cleaning, tree planting, renovation of public spaces.
Accommodation: Participants will be accommodated at the student’s hostel and tents. Clean water and electricity will be available.
Language: The official language of this project is English and Kiswahili. You do not have to be fluent.
Requirements: No special or particular expertise/skills required; however a potential Participant for this project should be the one who is social, flexible open minded and independent, interested in cultures, Peace Health issues, travelling, flexible, interested in manual/ outdoor activities and able to work under less supervision.
Approximate Location: The project will be hosted in Dodoma. Dodoma mean sunk in gogo language the indigenous people of the region. It is officially the National capital of Tanzania with the population of approximately 410,956. The town is 453km west of the former capital at Dar es Salaam and 441km south of Arusha City.
Notes: Note: For now, Tanzanian authorities require volunteers to get a business visa.
