NO-ID-13.1 Jøssåsen landsby, Hommelvik
Description: Jøssåsen Landsby is a community (village) for and with adults with disabilities and is part of the international Camphill movement. There are 5 other similar villages in Norway. The communities are based on the teachings of anthroposophy. Situated on a biodynamic farm, Jøssåsen has 5 family houses and several workshops. There are approximately 50 people living in the community. 3-5 villagers plus 3-4 co-workers live in each house. There are about 10 people from the local community who come to Jøssåsen on a daily basis to do various work. The village property, including all the buildings, land and forest is owned by the Camphill Trust. Jøssåsen is economically supported by the state.
Type of Work: The work will be outside: Making and fixing various fences. If the weather conditions allow it there will be some painting of the sheds or some landscaping.
Accommodation: We offer 3 summer cabins to the volunteers.
Language: English is the camp language and everyone must have at least a basic knowledge of English.
Requirements: Take with you sleepingbags. Summers here are not always warm and nice, be prepared for rain and chilly weather.
Approximate Location: Near Hommelvik, in Malvik municipality, less than an hours drive from Trondheim. Trondheim is Norways third largest city at the shore of a large fjord, Trondheimsfjorden. Beautiful hills and mountains with a lot of waterfalls, lakes and rivers surround Jøssåsen.
Notes: Special community rules that have to be followed during the workcamp: We do not accept the use of alcohol and drugs in our village.
