Helping with the horses in Ryzáček
Description: Ryzáček is an association dedicated to hippotherapy for children and adults since year 2006. Hippotherapy is a special physiotherapeutic method that uses horseback riding and other activities with horses as a means of rehabilitation for people with disabilities and special needs. Its uniqueness lies in its complex effect on human organism. Horses´ movements positively affect our central nervous system and so can help for example in the development of locomotor system of people with coordination disorder and other orthopedic and neurological diseases. Besides that Ryzáček also carries out activities for children associated with exploring the world of horses.
Type of Work: The main tasks on this workcamp will be basic construction works - volunteers will be building a wooden fence around the riding hall for horses, repair a shelter for them and generally clean the area they live in - remove weeds, branches etc. You will work approximately 6 hours/day, one day will be free
Study Theme: You will learn about hipporehabilitation, its techniques, how it works, what it can be used for and the development of this field in the Czech Republic. Of course you will be able to see and experience it yourself since you will be able to try hipporehabilitation techniques
Accommodation: Participants will be sleeping in a common room, it is necessary that you bring sleeping bag and camping mat! Also possibility to sleep in a tent (provided), if you want. There is 1 bathroom and 2 toilets. You will help with preparation of meals. There is wi-fi in the area.
Language: English is the language of this workcamp. Czech is the language spoken in the Czech Republic, though we do not expect you to know it, you will have a chance to learn some words during the workcamp.
Approximate Location: Small village in Moravia (eastern part of Czech Republic) between cities Šumperk and Olomouc. It is quite distant place, you will be in nature, away from big cities.
