Description: General Aims: • To value the river of São João, its mills and waterfalls • To make known the cultural and natural heritage of the Serra da Lousã • Recover the tracks on the banks of the São João river • Provide moments of interculturality among young people from different countries • To value volunteering as a "tool" for local development (whether at the cultural, environmental or tourist level) • To make known the historical and cultural heritage of the region • Sensitizing to the environmental consequences of invasive plants (eg Acacia) • Promote the planting of native species • Promote intercultural relations between the young participants and the local community
Type of Work: • Cutting small trees using hand tools • Storage and transport of small logs • Arrangement of the path where it was destroyed by fire • Promotion of activity for the local community • Cut acacia shoots as a way to stop their growth (combating the invaders) • Preparation of plot of land for subsequent planting of native species
Accommodation: The participants will be lodged the youth hostel, in the center of Lousã and they have free access to swimming municipality pool. Next to youth hostel exist a good house with a big room and kitchen where the group can cook and eat.
The camp include 5 meals: breakfast; morning coffee break; lunch; afternoon coffe break, dinner and evening coffe break
Requirements: • Do not use drugs • Do not consume alcohol during activities and especially in the presence of children and young people • Be motivated to participate in all activities in the work camp (painting, restoring, house cleaning, cooking, presenting your country)
Approximate Location: Lousã is a town located 30 km from the city of Coimbra
