Description: General Aims: • To value the environmental and historical heritage of the parish of Serpins • To value the industrial heritage of paper • Raise awareness of rails cleaning • Revitalize a waterfront path that disappeared with the fire of 15 of October 2017 • Raise awareness of the environmental consequences of invasive plants (eg Acacia) • Promote a plantation of native species • Make the region and its heritage known • Promote "exchange" among young people from different countries of the world • Promote intercultural relations between the young participants and the local community
Type of Work: • Cutting small trees using hand tools • Storage and transport of small logs • Arrangement of the path where it was destroyed by fire • promotion of an activity for the local community • Cut acacia shoots as a way to stop their growth (combating the invaders) • Preparation of plot of land for subsequent planting of native species • Cook and clean the place where the group will cook and eat
Accommodation: The participants will be lodged in the campsite of Serpins parish that is to close of a river beach and near the bus station. Next to campsite exist a good house with a big room and kitchen where the group can cook and eat. The camp include 5 meals: breakfast; morning coffee break; lunch; afternoon coffee break, dinner and evening coffee break
Requirements: • Do not use drugs • Do not consume alcohol during activities and especially in the presence of children and young people • Be motivated to participate in all activities in the work camp (painting, restoring, house cleaning, cooking, presenting your country)
Approximate Location: Serpins is a town located 25 km from the city of Coimbra.
