Horts del Soler: permaculture, bioconstruction and sustainability in Sant Feliu de Pallerols.
Description: Els 'Horts del Soler' is a place where the people of Sant Feliu de Pallerols historically went to the community garden. The project aims to recover a polyvalent area in which, apart from the orchards, there are areas of aromatic plants, an edible forest, a playground and a verger. Generate pedagogical and educational spaces, as well as playful and intergenerational interaction, enhancing the tourist's interest in the area.
The workcamp will focus on the Adjustment of the Entrance and adaptation of the camping area of “Horts del Soler”.

Type of Work: Type of Work: The first phase of work will be the entrance area of the “Horts del Soler”. - Fixing the area, especially the main access. - Moving, selecting and organizing the stones and wood that are found there. - Creating a spiral of stones and aromatic plants with permaculture techniques. - Creating a small sample medical circle, also using permaculture techniques. - Making a wooden railing, giving your welcome to the Horts.
The second phase of work will be the Camping Zone. - Fixing the intendance space, following the same steps that are proposed at the entrance. - Embellish and adapt the camping area, making a wooden table with stools, where you can eat, cook, or simply be, benches, etc.
Work will be approximately 6 hours a day (from 9h am to 15h).

Accommodation: The volunteers will sleep in the same place where they are the “Horts del Soler”. In it there will be the minimum and necessary infrastructure for accommodation (water point, space for the kitchen, dry bath and shops).
The food will be bought in stores in the town. The volunteers themselves will be the people responsible for cooking their food.
You need to bring a sleeping bag and a mallet. It is also necessary to wear comfortable and adequate clothes for work. In addition you should bring warm clothes (since at night the temperatures drop significantly) plus rain coats in case of rain.
Language: English, Spanish and Catalan.
Requirements: Motivation letter is required.

Notes: In order to encourage contact and exchange, volunteers are expected to participate in Excursions with bicycles, meetings or workshops with “Mas Franch”, contact a group of local youth, excursions to the Volcanic Zone of the Garrotxa, the Bas Valley and the Vall d'Hostoles, possible excursions to the gorges, exchanges with groups of consumption premises, participation in the Ecoxarxa, discoveries of projects of the surroundings, meeting with the Assembly of Young people of the Garrotxa, participation in Nuria Social and the Canadian, Major festivals in the Hostalets de Bas, organization of a fresh cinema in the village, contact the library, etc.
Children and families are welcome, but it´s not a family camp, so your children maybe will be the only ones there.
