Satoyama Life at Sanhe Community
Description: In this program, you will participate in farm works and community works provided by the village farmers. Meanwhile, you will learn about organic farming, urban greening and sustainability. This volunteer experience provides volunteers practical education in organic farming skills as well as experiencing local arts and cultures such as Chinese tea ceremony, culinary, languages and most importantly, the people!
This is most suitable for those especially interested in the life of a rich culture and tranquility, and perfect for students who are learning about agriculture. The villagers spend their lives mostly within their community, this program provides them with the amazing opportunity to learn English, as well as experience other cultures, from international volunteers.
Type of Work: Organic Tea Planting. Learn By Serving: Your time and energy is a gift to the local farmers, as well as to the environment. Your aid creates a positive cycle that generates feelings of serenity and belonging between yourself and the people you help. This is also a gift to yourself.
Improve Rural Habitat: Organic and natural farming requires a great deal of labor force. Combining the efforts of people from all walks of life can bring the manpower and energy needed to optimize the environment of Taiwan's more rural areas.
