Revitalization of rural village in Japan
Description: The place was used to be elementary school which was closed in 1978 with 103 years history. After the closer, local social welfare council utilized the school naming Suginoko village.Suginoko Village wants to be the center where different people(nationality, age, religion etc) interact each other and be the example of co-existence. SCI Japan met Suginoko Village in 2014 and we support their idea through organizing workcamp together.
Type of Work: cleaning the area around the school, renovation of 1 house near the school to make it use for the visitors to visit Suginoko Village, revitalizing the vegitable field around the school
Study Theme: How to revitalize rural village, how to live and work together with people from different background
Accommodation: Renovated house near the school, need sleeping bag
Requirements: Need to have willingness to work hard and live in a simple accommodation with your own sleeping bag, and willingness to do household work which will be taken turn among volunteers beside the outside work.
