Description: Trees can play an important role to mitigate climate change. There is huge potential for tree planting, forest protection and agro forestry in Bangladesh to mitigate climate change. Roadside plantation has also been one way to increase tree cover in a densely populated district where no natural woodland remains. Trees reverse the impacts of land degradation. They provide food, energy, and income. Trees help communities achieve long-term economic and environmental sustainability. They filter the air and help stave off the effects of climate change both globally and locally.
